Wood-fired hot tubs use the principle of gravity, with warm water rising and cold water sinking. The heater keeps the water circulating and warm.

Heating time depends on the burner, tub size, and weather conditions but generally takes 1.5 to 2.5 hours.

Yes, use a floating thermometer to monitor the water temperature and adjust the wood and air supply to the heater as needed.

Without a filtration system, it’s recommended to change the water every 2-3 uses, or after each use if the tub is frequently used.

Amber Hot Tubs endorses Eco 3, a chemical-free option that aligns with their principles.

Dry wood produces minimal smoke, creating a pleasant atmosphere. Damp wood may cause more smoke.

Once cooled, ashes can be disposed of in a bin or used as compost in the garden.

You don't need to clean the heater after every use, but ensure there is enough airflow to keep the fire going. Always let the embers cool before removing the ash.

Only use dried, fully seasoned (or kiln-dried) wood logs with a moisture content below 20%. Well-seasoned logs make a clear ‘clack’ sound when knocked together.

PEACE OF MIND

Your Site Preparation.

Ensure your hot tub sits on a level, firm surface that can support the tub when full of water. There should be a 3-5cm airing gap between the ground surface and the base of the barrel if it is a solid timber barrel. Our tubs can be placed on decking, paving, small gravel, or any firm, level surface. If placed on decking, ensure there is a hearth plate in front of the heater door to prevent damage from ashes and embers. External, non-integrated heaters must be installed on the same level as your hot tub.
